More about this rule

The rule in plain language

Columbus City Code section 2151.09(a) sets a violation for parking more than 72 hours. Shorter posted limits, permit-zone rules, street sweeping, emergency restrictions, and other parking prohibitions can still apply before that citywide limit.

What to keep in mind

Check the block's signs every time. The 72-hour rule is not permission to ignore meters, permit areas, temporary no-parking notices, registration requirements, or restrictions for trucks, buses, boats, trailers, and house vehicles.
