More about this rule

The rule in plain language

The city's permit packet requires an ordinary flock to have a coop and run of at least 24 square feet or six square feet per bird, whichever is larger, with adequate sanitation and confinement that prevents a nuisance.

What to keep in mind

An excess flock has additional inspection, setback, and coop requirements. Up to eight permitted fowl may temporarily roam outside the coop and run only within an enclosed area on the owner's property between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
