More about this rule

The rule in plain language

ParkHouston lists both the 24-hour same-space limit and the separate overnight restriction for commercial vehicles. Posted time limits or no-parking rules can require a vehicle to move sooner.

What to keep in mind

Check signs and curb markings where you park. Residential permit areas, temporary restrictions, disabled spaces, fire zones, driveway and crosswalk clearances, and large-vehicle or trailer rules can still make an overnight space illegal. Private-property and yard parking are governed separately.
